ABOUT US
Comprehensive Disaster Response Services (CDRS) is a non-profit, humanitarian organization working for the betterment and well-being of the people, the land and animals of Pakistan, since the year 2005.

CEO Todd Shea, before founding CDRS in 2005, had extensively volunteered in natural disasters in different parts of the world.

So when CDRS was formed, its ever-growing team developed feelings of empathy for the suffering of people in Pakistan and around the world. This has resulted in millions of people in Pakistan who have been helped, or whose lives have been positively impacted by CDRS.
THE BIG PICTURE
Animals are a key part of our ecosystem and should be considered under the protection and care of humans.

Owing to a widespread lack of empathy for animals, they are mistreated, resulting in them getting injured, becoming aggressive, and having a strong negative impact on human communities as well as ecology.

Development and promotion of empathy towards animals, then, is something desirable, important, and very needed.
THE IMPORTANCE OF
EMPATHY TOWARDS ANIMALS
The rampant overpopulation of stray animals in Pakistan has given rise to the following issues, creating a vicious cycle where a lack of empathy creates conditions that in turn create more lack of empathy:
SPREAD OF DISEASE
ANIMAL ABUSE LEADING TO ATTACKS ON PASSERSBY
GENERAL PERCEPTION OF ANIMALS BEING 'DIRTY'OR 'DANGEROUS
APATHY TOWARDS VOICELESS BEINGS DUE TO LACK OF POPULATION MANAGEMENT
These problems must be addressed professionally and compassionately, and not recklessly. Any solution not based on empathy, such as shooting or poisoning stray animals or violence and cruelty, and even the indifference of the community, will exacerbate the problem, rather than fixing it.
WHAT WE DO
Empathy starts at home. Motivated by that, the Benji Project, foremost, has taken the following practical steps for animal welfare in Pakistan.
